Turkey's Aselsan signs defence contract with Poland for $410 million
Turkish defence company Aselsan has signed a $410 million contract to directly sell electronic warfare systems to Poland. This was reported by Turkish and Polish media with reference to the company's statement.
In an official statement, Aselsan noted that the agreement was signed with a client from NATO countries, without naming the state. At the same time, media in Turkey and Poland confirmed that it was Warsaw, which is actively expanding military and technical cooperation with Ankara.
The contract concerns the supply of modern electronic systems designed to suppress and protect against enemy communications and targeting equipment. The agreement is another step in strengthening Poland's defence capabilities amid growing security challenges in Europe.
Aselsan currently has a market capitalisation of around TL 940 billion, making it the most valuable company on the Borsa Istanbul exchange. Last month, the company also signed a $101.8m contract with Turkish Aerospace Industries to supply avionics for the country's national weapons programmes.
According to SIPRI, Aselsan was ranked 47th in the ranking of the world's 100 largest defence companies in 2024. Its revenues from military products reached $3.47 billion, up 24.4 per cent year-on-year. The total revenues of the world's top 100 defence companies in 2024 grew by 5.9 per cent to reach a record $679 billion.
