Compulsory evacuation of children from five communities announced in Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Ukraine has introduced mandatory evacuation of children from five settlements in Zaporizhzhia region. The decision concerns 40 children from 26 families, who will be transported to Cherkasy region together with their parents or legal representatives.
This was announced by Oleksiy Kuleba, Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine and Minister of Development of Communities and Territories. According to him, this decision is a forced but necessary step in the face of constant shelling and security risks.
Kuleba emphasised that the mandatory evacuation is aimed primarily at saving the lives of children, who remain the most vulnerable category of the population in frontline communities.
The evacuation is being organised by the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, local authorities and other involved services. They are coordinating safe routes, accompanying families and providing the necessary assistance at all stages of relocation and accommodation in the new region.
