Ubisoft co-founder Claude Guillemot has died: what is known about the accident

According to preliminary reports, the aircraft had taken off from Rennes and was heading for La Boly. After the crash, the aircraft caught fire, and the blaze began to spread to the vegetation near the crash site.
By the time the rescue services arrived at the crash site, the aircraft was already engulfed in flames. Two people were killed in the crash — Claude Guimo and his instructor, who was on board as a passenger.
It is known that Guimo was due to take part in an aviation event in La Bolle, where over a hundred aircraft were expected this weekend.

Claude Guimaud, together with his four brothers, founded Ubisoft in 1986. The company went on to become one of the world’s largest video game developers and publishers.
Ubisoft is known for popular game series such as Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Just Dance and other projects that have gained millions of fans worldwide.
