Prostor, a Ukrainian chain of beauty and personal care shops, has announced that it is ceasing operations and will begin gradually closing its outlets. The shops will start closing from 1 July 2026

This is according to Glavkom.

Why are Prostor shops closing?

The decision to cease operations was taken by NUMIS LLC, which operates the Prostor chain on the Ukrainian market.

The company’s statement notes that the closures will take place in stages. However, the reasons for this decision have not yet been disclosed.

Prostor representatives described this step as a difficult one and noted that they regret not being able to announce the changes earlier.

The company emphasised that it will make every effort to wind up the chain’s operations in an orderly manner and fulfil all its obligations to customers, staff and partners.

What is known about the Prostor chain

Prostor has been operating in Ukraine for many years, selling cosmetics, personal care products, household goods and cleaning products.

The chain’s shops were opened in various regions of the country, and the brand itself became one of the most recognisable among Ukrainian customers in the drugstore segment.

The company competed with other major chains selling beauty and personal care products.

Prostor has not yet disclosed exactly which shops will be the first to close, nor when the closure of the entire chain will be completed.

At the same time, the decision to wind down operations has been one of the most notable recent developments in the Ukrainian beauty retail market.

As a reminder, an electronic notification system for cosmetic products was previously launched in Ukraine. It provides for the centralised registration of cosmetic products entering the Ukrainian market — from shampoos and personal care products to make-up.
