Ukrainian drones to be mass-produced in Germany for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukrainian company Frontline Robotics and German manufacturer Quantum Systems have announced the creation of a joint defence venture, Quantum Frontline Industries. The project was presented on 15 December in Berlin during the German-Ukrainian Business Forum as part of the Building with Ukraine initiative. It is reported by The Public with reference to DW.
The new company will launch the first fully automated industrial line for the production of Ukrainian drones in Europe in Germany. It will be a mass production line for combat-proven drones developed by Frontline Robotics. One hundred per cent of the products manufactured in Germany will be supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the volumes determined by the Ministry of Defence.
According to the joint venture's management, the production will allow for the production of thousands to tens of thousands of drones per year. The factories are planning to assemble the Zoom reconnaissance drone, the Linza logistics drone, and the Buria remote-controlled combat station, among others.
Quantum Systems will be responsible for industrial infrastructure, scaling and process automation, while Frontline Robotics will provide licensed technology, staff training and technical support in accordance with NATO standards. The project will also create new jobs, including for Ukrainians in Germany.
The companies emphasise that the transfer of part of the production abroad is a forced step due to constant Russian attacks and a lack of safe sites in Ukraine. At the same time, the partnership is seen as an important element in the formation of a new European drone industry based on Ukrainian military innovations and German engineering.
