The government plans to increase the official salaries of social workers, medical professionals, and educators in the social services sector by 2.5 times. This was announced by Minister of Social Policy Denys Ulyutin during the Forum of the Association of Frontline Cities and Communities.

«The increase must be noticeable», — emphasized government representatives.

As reported by ThePublic.info, citing a statement by the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Ulyutin, the government is preparing a significant increase in official salaries in the social services sector. The changes will affect not only social workers but also medical and pedagogical specialists working within this system.

According to preliminary calculations, after the increase, specialists will be able to receive the following salaries:

  • social worker — over 13,000 UAH;

  • leading specialist — about 17,000 UAH.

Ulyutin emphasized that the frontline communities were the first to demonstrate that investing in social sector professionals directly strengthens societal resilience. The minister expressed hope that all regional military administrations and relevant ministries will support the initiative.

Earlier, Deputy Head of the President's Office, Iryna Vereshchuk, stated that the social protection system is on the verge of personnel exhaustion and requires an immediate review of salary payments. During trips to regions, she identified two key issues:

  • low wages;

  • staff shortages.

According to ThePublic.info, an agreement was reached on one of the working platforms within the Presidential Office: the Ministry of Social Policy will urgently submit a resolution to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding a significant increase in local salaries.
