Vence: Trump clearly stated that Putin had no right to attack Ukraine
US President Donald Trump has unequivocally stated that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had no right to start a war against Ukraine. This was announced by US Vice President Jay D. Vance in an interview with journalist Megyn Kelly on The Megyn Kelly Show.
According to Vance, the US president's position is clear and unambiguous. He stressed that the Trump administration intends to work to end the war and mitigate the consequences of Russian aggression. At the same time, the vice president noted that even while fundamentally disagreeing with the Kremlin's actions, Washington may seek limited areas of cooperation with Moscow.
Vance also expressed his conviction that Trump will leave a significant mark on world history by adhering to the "America First" policy. In his opinion, the current president's approach involves the vigorous defence of US national interests, but does not exclude pragmatic agreements where the positions of the parties coincide.
The Vice President added that the differences between the United States and Russia remain significant, but possible points of contact could become part of a broader reorientation of Washington's foreign policy.
