Over crimes in Bucha: the EU is preparing sanctions against nine individuals
This was reported by Reuters, citing a statement by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said on Monday that the European Union would impose sanctions on nine people accused of war crimes linked to the killings in Bucha, Ukraine.
Barrot made this statement upon arriving at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels.
Kyiv has stated that more than 1,400 people were killed in Bucha, a suburb near the Ukrainian capital, during the 33-day occupation by Russian troops at the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
In addition, according to Barro, on Monday the EU will also impose sanctions against several individuals believed to be Kremlin propagandists.
Among them, he named the Franco-Russian Adrien Boquet. Barro stated that Boquet is a “key recruiter of foreign fighters in Ukraine” and is also involved in “glorifying war crimes” and disinformation campaigns in Europe and Africa.
