Zelensky explained whether the debate surrounding Greenland could influence the war in Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the discussion of the Greenland issue and explained whether it could affect the course of the war in Ukraine. He made this statement during a conversation with journalists.
The head of state noted that he is concerned about any distraction of the international community's attention in the context of a full-scale war. At the same time, he stressed that the situation around Greenland and Russia's war against Ukraine are not interchangeable topics. According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is in a state of full-scale armed conflict with a clearly defined aggressor and has specific victims of this war.
The President stressed that it is fundamentally important for Ukraine that its partners do not lose focus on the fight against Russia. He emphasised that ending the war is only possible if Ukraine is strengthened and pressure on the Russian Federation is increased, as there are currently no other effective tools available.
Separately, Zelensky expressed his support for Denmark, emphasising Ukraine's respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity, particularly in the context of Greenland. He noted that Ukraine consistently adheres to the principles of international law.
The President also expressed his hope that all disputes related to Greenland will be resolved diplomatically. According to him, it is important for the United States to listen to Europe's position within the framework of diplomacy, which, in his opinion, will allow serious geopolitical risks to be avoided.
