Zelensky congratulates military in Kupyansk and emphasises strength of Ukrainian positions
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Kharkiv region and visited Kupiansk, where he personally congratulated the soldiers on the Day of the Land Forces and presented state awards. The visit took place amid active fighting and reports of the encirclement of Russian troops in the city.
According to the President, Russian propaganda has been trying to present Ukraine as weak for years, but the reality completely refutes these statements. Zelenskyy emphasised that the defenders of Kupiansk demonstrate resilience, which shapes Ukraine's position not only at the front but also in future negotiations.
The President stressed that the end of the war should be worthy and correspond to the sacrifice of every Ukrainian soldier. He also noted that the memory of the fallen is a part of Ukraine's negotiating position, because a respected state has the right to a fair and just peace.
«You are strong. Ukraine is defending its positions. The stronger our defence on the front line, the stronger our position in the negotiation process will be," Zelensky said, thanking the military for their service.
