Yevgen Maloletka has won the World Press Photo 2026 award for a photograph taken following the attack on Kyiv
Ukrainian photographer Yevgen Maloletka is once again among the winners of the World Press Photo competition. This time, the jury recognised his photograph “Russian Attack on Kyiv”, taken following the massive Russian attack on the capital on 24 April 2025.
Law enforcement agencies have handed over spare parts for armoured vehicles worth 20 million hryvnias to the Armed Forces of Ukraine

An anthology of Shevchenko’s works in Danish is being prepared in Copenhagen
For the first time, an anthology of Taras Shevchenko’s poetry is being prepared in Denmark in the Danish language. The collection will feature 13 selected works from *Kobzar*, and the project was symbolically launched with a public reading of the Danish translation of *The Testament* on 8 March at the poet’s monument in Copenhagen.

In the US, the suspect in the murder of Ukrainian woman Iryna Zarutska has been declared unfit to stand trial
A psychiatric assessment has found that Decarlos Brown, an American accused of murdering Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska in August 2025, is mentally unfit to stand trial. His lawyer is asking the court to postpone a key hearing for six months, whilst his client remains in custody.
