President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that China had, for the first time, reacted firmly to statements from Russia regarding the possible use of nuclear weapons. He said that European leaders had informed him of Beijing’s position.
Iran has stated that it attacked military targets in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain using drones in response to overnight strikes by the United States. Tehran has also reported that there were casualties as a result of the US attacks.

The massive Russian attack on Kyiv on 2 July caused serious pollution of Lake Kyrylivske in the Obolon district. Hundreds of tonnes of petroleum products spilled into the lake, which has already led to the death of local wildlife.
