95% of drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces are sourced from Ukrainian manufacturers – Ministry of Defence
This was reported by the Ministry of Defence’s press office.
One of the key factors in the market’s development was the launch of the DOT-Chain Defence weapons marketplace. The system has enabled military units to select the equipment they require independently, whilst allowing manufacturers to better forecast demand and scale up production.
The Ministry of Defence notes that the new model has intensified competition between manufacturers, stimulated improvements in service and product refinement. As a result, Ukrainian companies now supply the vast majority of unmanned systems procured by the army.
In addition, the Ministry of Defence has introduced a new approach to UAV procurement. From now on, the demand for drones is determined automatically based on data from the battlefield. The General Staff defines the required technical specifications without specifying a particular manufacturer, whilst the selection of specific models is based on ratings generated by digital systems, including eBal, DOT-Chain, Brave1 Market, DELTA and Mission Control.
It is noted that in less than five months of 2026, 485,000 drones and other equipment, totalling 31.4 billion hryvnias, have already been supplied to the military via DOT-Chain Defence.
According to the Defence Procurement Agency, it takes an average of nine days from the moment an order is placed until the military receives the equipment. The marketplace is also integrated with Brave1 Market, allowing units to place additional orders for drones and other equipment using eBaly as part of the ‘Army of Drones. Bonus’ programme.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated that Ukraine aims to end the war before winter.
