A drone has crashed in Turkey, damaging houses

Residents thought there had been a gas explosion
The incident occurred at around 6.30 am in the Ilkadim district. According to local residents, they were woken by a loud, explosion-like sound. At first, people thought it was a natural gas explosion. Afterwards, broken windows and other damage were discovered in several nearby houses. Police, rescue workers and medics arrived at the scene. The area was cordoned off, and the drone debris was seized for examination.
The police are investigating the cause of the crash
According to preliminary data, the drone may have weighed around 25 kilograms. It is also reported that the aircraft had a wingspan of approximately one metre. Law enforcement officers are investigating who owned the drone and what caused it to crash. Local resident Fatma Çakır told journalists that after a loud noise, she saw smoke near the house opposite.
“We thought it was a natural gas explosion. It was a very strange sound. We were very frightened,” she said.
