Quantum Systems has stated that the new funding round has more than doubled the company’s valuation.
The German company Quantum Systems, whose drones are being used extensively in Ukraine, has raised $1.2 billion in a Series D funding round. Following the deal, the company’s valuation rose to approximately $8 billion, making it one of Europe’s most valuable defence technology start-ups.

This was reported by Quantum Systems.

The funding round was jointly led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent. Other investors included BOND, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Wellington Management, A.P. Moller Holding, Elephant Lake Ventures, as well as existing shareholders Balderton and HV Capital.

Quantum Systems stated that the new round has more than doubled the company’s valuation. This is attributed to rapid revenue growth, profitability and business expansion in the defence sector.

What will the $1.2 billion be used for?

The company plans to use the funds raised to scale up production, strengthen supply chains, expand deliveries to allied nations, and develop software and artificial intelligence technologies.

Particular emphasis will be placed on developing the MOSAIC UXS platform — a software ecosystem that enables drones, ground-based robotic systems, maritime systems, sensors and other autonomous platforms to be integrated into a single network.

At the same time, Quantum Systems and Airbus Defence and Space have agreed to deepen their strategic partnership to develop new European defence technologies.

Ukraine has become one of the key testing grounds

The company emphasised that it already has significant combat experience of using its systems in Ukraine.

According to Quantum Systems, in 2025 alone, its drones carried out over 19,000 combat missions in Ukraine.

At the same time, the company continues to expand its production capacity. Today, its facilities operate in Germany, Ukraine, the US, Australia, Romania, the UK and the Baltic states.

A focus on autonomous systems

Florian Seibel, co-founder and co-CEO of Quantum Systems, stated that autonomous systems will define the future of modern warfare.

According to him, the company aims to establish a new European defence manufacturer that will integrate various types of unmanned platforms into a single control system.

The other co-CEO, Sven Kruk, noted that the new funding will enable the company to rapidly ramp up production and scale up deliveries of unmanned systems utilising artificial intelligence technologies.

Why this deal is important

The Series D funding round has become one of the largest private capital raises for a European defence technology company.

Quantum Systems believes that the market is shifting from individual drones to integrated autonomous ecosystems operating in the air, on land and at sea under a single software control system.

According to investors, Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has significantly accelerated demand for such technologies, whilst European countries are actively increasing investment in their own defence sectors and autonomous systems.

Ukraine is not prepared for major floods: an audit has revealed critical problems

Ukraine’s flood defence system does not ensure adequate preparedness for large-scale flooding. The Audit Office has concluded that the state system operates in a piecemeal manner, and that the critical state of the infrastructure, a lack of equipment and the public’s poor preparedness could lead to significant loss of life and property.
