Olya Polyakova announced that her daughter had been admitted to hospital and complained about the long wait for medical care.
The eldest daughter of Ukrainian singer Olia Polyakova suddenly fell ill whilst on holiday abroad. Twenty-one-year-old Maria was admitted to hospital with severe abdominal pain; however, according to the singer, they had to wait over an hour for medical assistance.

Olya Polyakova said that her daughter Maria woke up at around six in the morning with severe stomach pain. They then went straight to the local hospital.

“My little Masha woke up with severe stomach pain. We arrived at the hospital. I don’t know what it is,” the singer said in her Stories.

At the time of publication, the artist had not disclosed her daughter’s diagnosis nor explained what exactly had caused her to feel unwell.

Polyakova criticised healthcare abroad

Later, the singer posted another video from the hospital, in which she complained about the long wait for a doctor.

According to Polyakova, even an hour after arriving at the hospital, Maria had still not been examined.

The artist also compared the foreign healthcare system with the Ukrainian one, stating that, in her opinion, patients in Ukraine receive treatment much more quickly.

What is known about Maria Polyakova

Maria Polyakova is the eldest daughter of Olia Polyakova and her husband Vadym Buryakovsky. She is 21 years old, runs her own blog, works on creative projects and regularly appears alongside her mother at public events.

The family is currently abroad. Polyakova has not officially specified where exactly the hospitalisation took place, although a number of Ukrainian media outlets report that it happened in Monaco.

Ukraine is not prepared for major floods: an audit has revealed critical problems

Ukraine’s flood defence system does not ensure adequate preparedness for large-scale flooding. The Audit Office has concluded that the state system operates in a piecemeal manner, and that the critical state of the infrastructure, a lack of equipment and the public’s poor preparedness could lead to significant loss of life and property.
