Card blocks in April: what amounts and transfers will the bank ask about
This is reported by Novosti.LIVE
Threshold amounts: when to expect a request?
In April, banks are focusing on two key limits on total monthly transfers:
-
400,000 UAH: Mandatory verification by law. The account holder is required to provide documents confirming the source of funds.
-
From 30,000 to 400,000 UAH: ‘Medium risk’ zone. Monitoring is triggered if transactions are atypical for your customer profile.
7 signs of a ‘suspicious’ transaction:
Even for small amounts, the bank will require proof of income in the following cases:
-
Splitting of transactions: A series of small transfers instead of one large one.
-
Abnormal growth: A sharp increase in turnover over a week or a month.
-
Unusual recipients: Regular payments to various individuals without a specified purpose.
-
Crypto activity: Transactions related to trading in digital assets.
-
Lack of purpose: Money is received without a clear payment reference.
-
Trading without a sole trader: Signs of conducting business activities via a personal card.
-
Account transfers: Use of the card by third parties.
What documents will save the account?
If monitoring has blocked a transaction, prepare:
-
Pay slips or statements from a business account.
-
Tax return showing paid taxes.
-
Contracts for the sale or gift of property.
-
Documents confirming receipt of an inheritance or a prize.
Important: Everyday purchases, utility bills, mobile phone charges and tuition fees are not subject to scrutiny by tax or banking financial monitoring authorities.
