The State Energy Regulatory Commission has begun inspections of regional power companies following complaints about power cut schedules.
This was reported by The Public with reference to the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine.
Unscheduled inspections are ongoing in the Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy regions. They are aimed at monitoring compliance by distribution system operators with legal requirements when restricting or suspending electricity supply to consumers.
In particular, the inspection checks the correctness of hourly power cut schedules, the actual implementation of approved schedules, and compliance with the principle of equal distribution of power supply restrictions among consumers.
Particular attention is paid to protecting consumers' rights to receive electricity in conditions of power shortages in the energy system. The purpose of the inspections is to ensure equal conditions for the application of electricity supply restrictions for all categories of consumers.
If violations are found, distribution system operators must eliminate them and bring hourly power cut schedules into line with the requirements of regulatory and legal acts.
Based on the results of the inspections, the State Energy Inspection will provide recommendations and instructions, the implementation of which will be monitored by the inspection.
