Joshua knocks out Jake Paul in the sixth round and challenges Fury
The Kaseya Centre arena in Miami hosted a high-profile heavyweight fight between former world champion Anthony Joshua and American blogger and boxer Jake Paul. The fight, which lasted eight rounds, ended early with a convincing victory for the Briton.
Joshua was in full control of the fight from the first minutes. Already in the fourth and fifth rounds, Paul found himself on the canvas several times, and the decisive denouement came in the sixth round. After a series of powerful punches, Paul was unable to get up and the referee scored the knockout.
This is the first fight for 36-year-old Joshua after a 15-month break and his first victory since his defeat by Daniel Dubois in September 2024. The Briton entered the ring with a record of 29 wins, including 26 by knockout. Jake Paul suffered the second defeat of his professional career with 11 wins.
After the fight, Joshua said that the fight with Paul helped him to restore his fighting rhythm and regain his confidence. He also publicly challenged Tyson Fury to a fight, urging him to prove his ambitions in the ring, not with words. According to the promoters, the potential mega-fight could take place in 2026 in Saudi Arabia as part of the Riyadh Season project.
It's interesting that Joshua was preparing for this fight at the training camp of Alexander Usyk in Spain. Paul himself acknowledged the superiority of his opponent, and experts called the fight a clear example of the difference between elite professional boxing and media fights.
