Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko announced the closure of 35% of criminal proceedings related to business
"I promised that the prosecutor's office approach to business would be honest and fair. And today, the figures confirm this. An audit of over 23,000 criminal proceedings regarding business has been conducted. As a result, in 35% of cases, a decision has been made to close them," - Kravchenko wrote.
As the Prosecutor General indicated, the reason for closing proceedings is the lack of objective data regarding the composition and event of the criminal offense, and therefore, the judicial perspective.
Separately, Kravchenko pointed out that business has long been waiting for guarantees of protection and the opportunity for direct communication with the prosecutor's office. That is precisely why the "StopPressure" portal was created.
This is not a formality: each report is processed, the response will be quick and fair. I personally oversee its operation. It is an effective way to ensure honest dialogue between the prosecutor's office and business, - assures Kravchenko.
Earlier in Ukraine, the "StopPressure" portal (stoptysk.gp.gov.ua) officially started operating; it was created to protect business from unlawful pressure from law enforcement agencies. The presentation took place on September 2 during the X International Forum on Business Protection in Kyiv.
The new digital tool allows entrepreneurs to report cases of pressure, undergo verification and classification of appeals, and also receive a systematic response from the prosecutor's office. The information entered through the portal is used to verify signals, initiate investigations, and hold accountable those responsible in accordance with the law.
