The national multi-subject test will remain a mandatory exam for admission to higher education institutions in Ukraine in 2026. The test will consist of four subjects, will be held on one day and will be conducted online in special examination centres.

This was reported by The Public, citing information from the Ukrainian Centre for Educational Quality Assessment.

The NMT is a form of external independent assessment that ensures equal admission conditions for all applicants. It is taken by 2026 graduates, as well as individuals who have previously completed their secondary education and plan to enrol in Ukrainian universities.

Registration for the test will begin on 5 March and will last until 2 April. To participate, you must create an electronic account and submit documents to the regional centre for educational quality assessment.

In 2026, the test will include four subjects. Three of them are compulsory: Ukrainian language, Ukrainian history, and mathematics. The fourth subject is chosen by the applicant depending on their specialisation. The options include Ukrainian literature, biology, chemistry, physics, geography, or foreign languages, including English, German, French, or Spanish.

The test will be conducted online at temporary examination centres in Ukraine and abroad. All four subjects will be taken on the same day in two blocks of two hours each, with a 20-minute break between them.

The main NMT session will run from 20 May to 25 June. An additional session will be held from 17 to 24 July for participants who were unable to take the test during the main session for valid reasons, such as illness, air raid alerts or participation in international competitions.

It is not permitted to retake the test to improve your results within one year.

The content of the tests will correspond to the external independent assessment curricula and will test the knowledge acquired during school education. To prepare, applicants are advised to use previous years' tests, which are available online, to familiarise themselves with the structure and format of the tasks.
