Putin supporter Sobchak caused outrage by using a song by a popular Ukrainian singer
The controversial Russian journalist Ksenia Sobchak has caused outrage by using a song by the popular Ukrainian singer Emi.
Sobchak recently posted on Instagram, which, incidentally, is banned in Russia. That would have been fine, but she accompanied it with a song by the daughter of media mogul Valid Arfush — the popular Ukrainian singer Emily. Specifically, she used the track ‘Metamorphosis’. The girl’s song was clearly not aimed at the Russian market or such an audience.

It should be noted that Valid Arfush’s daughter is actively pursuing a singing career. The young woman performs under the stage name Emi, and her most popular track, ‘Metamorphosis’, has already racked up 30 million streams on Spotify.
It should be recalled that Ksenia Sobchak is a Putin supporter. In particular, back in 2014 she supported the annexation of Crimea and illegally visited the peninsula, for which she ended up on the ‘Myrotvorets’ website’s database. When Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Sobchak’s stance shifted — from ‘no to war’ to ‘I support Putin and the EU’. At the same time, this does not prevent the Russian woman from using the Ukrainian language.
