An An-22 military transport aircraft crashed in Russia
On Tuesday, an An-22 military transport aircraft crashed in the Ivanovo region of Russia. This was reported by Russian media with reference to emergency services. There were seven crew members on board. As of now, there is no confirmed information about casualties or injuries.

According to preliminary information, the plane crashed in the Furmanovsky district.
Later, the TASS propaganda agency reported that debris had been found in the area of the Uvodsky Reservoir north of the city of Ivanovo. The Russian Ministry of Defence reported that the aircraft was performing a test flight after repairs and crashed in a deserted area. A search and rescue team was sent to the crash site.
A number of Telegram channels note that this An-22 was the last transport aircraft of this type at the disposal of the Russian Ministry of Defence. The An-22 Antey is considered the world's largest turboprop aircraft. It was designed to transport heavy equipment and large-calibre weapons. Sixty-nine such aircraft were manufactured in the USSR, and only a few remain in service today.
