Ukraine has stepped up its use of FP-5 ‘Flamingo’ missiles: what we know
This was reported by an analyst at Dnipro Osint (‘Garbuz’).
What is known about the missile’s deployment
According to updated data as of 26 June, the number of confirmed FP-5 ‘Flamingo’ launches has risen to 39, whilst the number of confirmed hits has increased from two to six.
According to the analyst, the confirmed targets include two enterprises belonging to the Russian military-industrial complex: the VNDIR ‘Progress’ in Cheboksary, which was attacked twice, and the FNVTs ‘Titan-Barikady’ in Volgograd. It was the strike on the latter, in the author’s assessment, that proved most effective in terms of the missile hitting its target.
Some information remains classified
The analyst emphasised that the published statistics are based exclusively on open sources and do not reflect the full picture of the missile’s deployment.
He also quoted Denis Stilerman, who stated in an interview with PRESSING that one of the main problems was the tactics of using the missile.
“The main problem with the [FP-5] is the tactics of its use. We’ve worked out the tactics, and now it’s hitting its targets. We can see that,” said Stilerman.
According to Dnipro Osint, the results of the latest deployments of the FP-5 ‘Flamingo’ have not yet been disclosed, and the figures provided reflect only confirmed cases that have come to light from open sources.
