Usyk topped The Ring's P4P rating and became the best boxer in the world
Ukrainian world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk topped the updated ranking of the world's best boxers regardless of weight category according to The Ring. It is reported by The Public with reference to The Ring.
Usyk rose from second place to first after American boxer Terence Crawford announced his retirement. As a result, all athletes in the list moved up one position.
The year 2025 became decisive for Usyk's leadership. In July, the Ukrainian knocked out the British Daniel Dubois in the fifth round in a rematch and won the world heavyweight championship for the second time. In November, he relinquished the WBO belt due to his obligations to defend the title.
The updated top 10 of the P4P rankings also includes the American Oscar Collazo, who is the WBA and WBO world champion at minimum weight. His appearance was the only new change in the top ten.
The current The Ring P4P rankings look like this. Naoya Inoue takes the second place, and Jesse Rodriguez is third. The top five also includes Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.
In early December, the World Boxing Council approved Usyk's request for a voluntary title defence against American Deontay Wilder. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing, and the fight may take place in the first half of 2026.
