From March, pensions in Ukraine will be indexed, with some recipients receiving an increase of 1,000 hryvnia.
This was reported by The Public, citing data from the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine.
According to the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the exact amount of the indexation has already been determined. The increase will allow pension payments to be recalculated.
At the same time, pensioners who have retired in the last three years will not receive indexation. Instead, they will receive a supplement, which in previous years ranged from 100 to 125 hryvnia.
Certain categories of pensioners, in particular those who receive payments in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Prosecutor's Office", as well as persons with the status of victims of the Chernobyl disaster, judges and military pensioners, are also not subject to annual indexation. At the same time, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine may adopt a separate decision to increase payments for these categories, depending on the availability of funds in the budget, and determine the amount of the supplements.
The pensions of working pensioners are indexed separately. For them, the recalculation of payments usually begins on 1 April. Working pensioners are also entitled to a pension recalculation once every two years.
