During Igor Smelyansky's tenure, the joint-stock company Ukrposhta incurred losses of over 3.3 billion hryvnia, while the company's total net profit amounted to approximately 0.75 billion hryvnia.

This was reported by The Public with reference to Ukrposhta's financial statements published on the company's official website.

According to the published data, in 2016–2024, Ukrposhta's net financial result after tax was negative and amounted to UAH 2.561 billion.

In particular, in 2016-2018, the company operated at a loss totalling UAH 846.741 million. In 2019-2021, the company received a net profit of UAH 753.862 million.

After the start of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, Ukrposhta again became unprofitable. The total loss during this period amounted to about UAH 2.5 billion, with the largest figure recorded in 2022 — UAH 1.25 billion.

At the same time, the company's gross financial result remained positive during this period. Ukrposhta's total gross profit during this time amounted to UAH 7.9 billion.

According to the company, in 2024, Ukrposhta reduced its losses by 48.1%, or UAH 383.157 million, to UAH 413.204 million compared to 2023.

Ihor Smelyansky has been the CEO of Ukrposhta since 20 April 2016. According to him, his total pre-tax income, including salary and allowances, is UAH 11,723,286 per year.
