The AMCU has allowed Kyivstar to acquire the Tabletki.ua service
At its meeting on 29 January, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine granted permission to Kyivstar, the country's largest mobile operator, to acquire the Tabletki.ua medicine search and booking service. This involves acquiring control over MTPC LLC, the legal entity that owns the brand and operating platform of the service.
The decision was made after the company's third appeal. Previously, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine had twice refused to approve the deal due to different interpretations of Tabletki.ua's market share. The service is considered the largest player in the online medicine search and booking segment and is estimated to control over 80 per cent of this market.
Tabletki.ua is used by about 10 million people every month. In 2024, 12,000 pharmacies cooperated with the platform, accounting for almost 70 per cent of Ukraine's pharmaceutical retail market. In 2023, pharmacies sold medicines worth 25 billion hryvnias through the service. The monetisation model provides for a commission of about 2 per cent on each sale.
The company's financial indicators are growing. According to YouControl, MTPC LLC's revenue in 2024 amounted to 715.4 million hryvnias, which is almost twice as much as a year earlier. Net profit reached 598.2 million hryvnia, and the margin, according to Forbes Ukraine estimates, was about 89 per cent. Opendatabot predicts that in 2025, revenue could grow to 1.65 billion hryvnia. Experts estimated the potential value of the deal to be in the range of $30 to $80 million.
Medical services remain one of Kyivstar's priorities. Back in 2020, the operator acquired 69.99 per cent of the Helsi platform for 555.7 million hryvnias, gradually forming an ecosystem of digital services in the healthcare sector.
