Following the attack, a fire broke out at the oil terminal and railway station in the port of Kavkaz
The Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters has reported a fire at one of the industrial sites in the Temryuk District following a drone attack.
The ‘Crimean Wind’ monitoring group, citing satellite imagery, claims that the attack caused a fire at the oil products transhipment complex and railway station at the seaport of Kavkaz.
According to the source, the terminal that was attacked has a capacity of around three million tonnes per year and handles the transhipment of crude oil and fuel oil, which arrive at the port by rail tankers, road tankers and ships. The complex comprises a tank farm with a capacity of around 100,000 cubic metres and railway overpasses for unloading fuel from tankers.
The port of Kavkaz connects Russia with the temporarily occupied Crimea via the Kerch ferry crossing. According to ‘Krymskyi Vietor’, this port was also used to supply fuel, ammunition and weapons to the occupied peninsula.
The Telegram channel Exilenova+ also reported a fire at the Kavkaz Port tank farm. According to the channel, this facility had already come under drone attack on 21 and 23 June.
Earlier, following the attack on 21 June, the Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters announced the suspension of the Kerch ferry service and recommended that lorry drivers use the overland route to the temporarily occupied Crimea.
