The rating of Ukrainians' trust in world leaders is topped by the British Prime Minister
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer topped the rating of Ukrainians' trust in world leaders in 2025. He is trusted by 76.1 per cent of respondents. This is evidenced by the results of the study «Foreign Policy and Security. Attitudes of Ukrainian society in 2025, commissioned by the New Europe Center.
The top three also includes Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs with 73.5 per cent and French President Emmanuel Macron with 73.4 per cent. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney have more than 70 per cent of trust.
The German Chancellor has seen the biggest increase in confidence over the year. Plus 35.8 percentage points. Confidence in the British prime minister grew by 24.1 per cent, and in the French president by 15 per cent.
At the same time, a sharp drop in confidence in the US president was recorded. Donald Trump is now trusted by only 24.4 per cent of Ukrainians, which is 20.2 percentage points less than last year. The president of Poland also set an anti-record. The level of trust in him decreased by 20.6 per cent to 44 per cent.
The leaders of Russia, Belarus, China, and Hungary have the lowest trust scores. According to the researchers, the results reflect the growing orientation of Ukrainians towards Europe amid disillusionment with US policy.
The survey was conducted from 5 to 26 November 2025 by telephone interviews. It was attended by 1000 respondents, the statistical error does not exceed 3.1 per cent.
