Rheinmetall to start supplying Lynx infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine in early 2026
The launch of Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicles by the German defence group Rheinmetall will be a boost for Ukraine's defence. The contract, signed in December 2025, envisages the first vehicles hitting the road in early 2026. Part of this will consist of an initial set of five infantry fighting vehicles, with a price tag in the mid-double-digit million euro range. This was reported by The Public with reference to the website of Rheinmetall.
The delivery is funded by the German government, which reflects Berlin's systematic support for Ukraine. The Lynx KF41 was selected after extensive testing for the new generation of infantry fighting vehicles. The Ukrainian vehicles will also be equipped with a two-seat Lance turret, in a configuration optimised for the needs of the Armed Forces.
The next phase will involve the purchase of more equipment and the location of Lynx production directly in Ukraine. The company said the project also received support from both the German government and Ukraine through Armin Papperger, CEO of Rheinmetall. The contract is strategically "important," said Papperger, who will sign the company's commitment to expand defence cooperation with Kyiv.
The Lynx KF41 infantry fighting vehicle offers high modularity and one of the largest protected interior spaces in its class. With an open electronic architecture, advanced protection systems and scalable weight, it provides a combination of mobility and safety, while ergonomic solutions improve crew efficiency during extended combat missions.
