SUM announced a second webinar on youth education and volunteering during wartime
On 23 January, the Ukrainian Youth Association (SUM) will hold its second online meeting as part of the SUM Studies series, dedicated to issues of patriotic education, volunteerism, and the participation of the organisation's members in the defence of Ukraine. This was announced on the Facebook page "Ukrainian Youth Association – SUM in the World."
The second webinar in the series "Fundamentals of SUM Education" will focus on the second component of the organisation's slogan – "Ukraine". This area covers the formation of ideology, patriotism and active volunteerism, which are the basis of the SUM community's worldview.
The programme will last 1 hour and 20 minutes and will consist of three thematic blocks. Participants will discuss issues of patriotic education with educator and historian Oleg Vitvitsky, director of the Ukrainian Information Service. Andriy Fendyk, head of the organisation's Volunteer Headquarters, will talk about volunteering in the SUM environment. A separate section entitled "Today — a SUM member, tomorrow — a soldier" will be devoted to a meeting with a representative of the Union who is currently defending Ukraine on the front line.
The webinar will take place on 23 January at 8 p.m. Kyiv time on the Google Meet platform. To participate, you must first fill out a registration form. Registered participants will receive a link to the broadcast on the day of the event by email and in a WhatsApp group.
The organisers note that they invite everyone who is interested in methods of educating conscious youth and strives to support the continuity of SUM traditions to participate.
The first webinar in the series "Fundamentals of SUM Education" took place on 21 November 2025.
