Sweden has allocated $100 million to support Ukraine within the framework of PURL
Sweden has announced that it will provide $100 million as part of the US Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List initiative, known as PURL. This was reported on the country's government website on 13 February 2026.
The new contribution will be part of a joint $500 million support package for Ukraine, which Sweden is implementing together with the Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom. The funds are intended to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities.
Swedish Defence Minister Paul Jonson said that his country is demonstrating strong solidarity with Ukraine and a willingness to take concrete steps to strengthen its defence. According to him, the contribution to PURL gives Ukraine access to priority defence equipment from the United States. This primarily concerns air defence systems and ammunition, which are crucial for protection against constant attacks from Russia.
This is Sweden's third contribution to PURL. Previously, the country allocated $275 million as part of a package with Denmark and Norway, as well as $60 million in cooperation with other Nordic and Baltic states. With the new tranche, Sweden's total financial support under PURL amounts to $435 million.
The PURL initiative provides Ukraine with high-priority defence equipment, financed by allies and partners. The package includes modern air defence systems and ammunition. NATO coordinates the implementation of the initiative, ensuring that the content of the packages meets Ukraine's most pressing needs.
