Zelensky reaffirms support for Syrsky, explains staff rotations and outlines security plans
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he is not currently considering the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. According to him, there are no plans to replace the Commander-in-Chief today, and the processes of change in the country are taking place in stages
The Head of State also noted that he does not plan to introduce a separate position of the National Security Adviser to the President. Currently, this role is fulfilled by the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov
Commenting on the personnel rotations in the government and security bloc, Zelenskyy stressed that they were dictated by the need to be prepared for defence in case of disruption of diplomatic efforts by Russia. The President emphasised that the peaceful path remains a priority, but the state must have a reserve of forces and management decisions
Zelenskyy also said that partners from the Coalition of the Willing will finalise a document on security guarantees for Ukraine during a meeting in Paris. This document should become the basis for further negotiations with the United States. According to him, meetings at the level of military and political leaders, including with the participation of the American side, are scheduled for January
Commenting on the events in Venezuela, Zelenskyy said that the US actions demonstrate an understanding of how to deal with dictatorial regimes
