KAB strikes on Zaporizhzhia on 20 June: five people killed, others injured

The aftermath of the attack on Zaporizhzhia
According to law enforcement officials, Russian troops attacked the regional capital on the evening of 20 June 2026.
The strike is known to have left at least five people dead and ten injured. Figures on the number of casualties are being verified.
Russian aerial bombs damaged and destroyed private homes. High-rise buildings, critical infrastructure and road surfaces were also damaged.
In addition, local residents’ cars were damaged by the explosions.
Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation
Law enforcement officers and emergency services are working at the sites of the strikes. They are documenting the consequences of yet another attack by Russian forces.
Under the procedural guidance of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a criminal investigation has been launched into a war crime resulting in loss of life.
The investigation is being conducted by investigators from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) office in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
