An earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck the Turkish province of Malatya on the morning of 20 May. The epicentre of the tremors was recorded in the Battalgazi district. Mindich has challenged Zelenskyy’s sanctions decree in the Supreme Court
Businessman Timur Mindich has filed a lawsuit against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He is seeking to have the decree imposing personal sanctions against him overturned. News of the lawsuit emerged on 14 May. The panel of judges who will hear the businessman’s case has already been appointed.
The Cabinet of Ministers proposes penalties for breaches relating to veterans’ status
Government Bill No. 15258 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada; it aims to introduce liability for violations committed during the granting of statuses related to the war and the defence of Ukraine. This concerns the status of combatants, persons with war-related disabilities, war veterans, family members of deceased veterans, Defenders of Ukraine and other categories defined by law.
School No. 13 in Sevastopol: three children in a serious condition following a balcony collapse
Nine pupils were injured in Sevastopol after a balcony collapsed at School No. 13. Three of the children are in a critical condition. The injured include six boys and three girls, all aged 17. According to updated reports, a further six pupils are in a serious condition.

The remains of Andriy Melnyk have been handed over to Ukraine for reburial
An official ceremony was held at the Bonnevoy Cemetery in Luxembourg to hand over to the Ukrainian side the remains of Colonel Andriy Melnyk, leader of the OUN from 1938 to 1964, and his wife, Sofia Fedak-Melnyk. The remains are to be transported to Ukraine for reburial in Kyiv at the National Military Memorial Cemetery – the Pantheon of Outstanding Ukrainians.
Ukrenergo’s Supervisory Board has been renewed: who has been appointed
The Ukrainian Ministry of Energy has approved the new line-up of state representatives on the supervisory board of NPC “Ukrenergo”. The board now comprises Yuriy Boyko, Yegor Perelygin and Mykola Brusenko. The supervisory board of NPC “Ukrenergo” consists of seven members: four independent members selected through a competitive process, and three state representatives.
