Oschadbank warned about fraud involving payments of 2,200 hryvnia from Ukrenergo
This was reported by the press service of Oschadbank.
Fraudsters send messages with links to fake websites that visually copy the official resources of banks or state-owned companies. On such pages, users are offered to apply for "compensation," for which they need to enter their bank card number, its expiry date, CVV code, and confirm the transaction with a one-time password from an SMS.
After entering this information, the attackers gain full access to the account and can withdraw funds. The bank emphasises that no state payments or compensation are processed through third-party links in Telegram, Viber or other messengers.
Oschadbank emphasised that the bank does not pay compensation through messengers and does not require the full card details to be entered on third-party websites. All information about payments should be checked exclusively on the official resources of the bank or state institutions.
Experts recommend not clicking on suspicious links, not entering card details on unknown websites, and not sharing SMS confirmation codes with third parties. If the card details have already been entered, you must immediately block the card via the bank's mobile app or contact the hotline, as well as check your transaction history and report the incident to the cyber police.
The bank also notes that promises of quick payments, requests to urgently enter card details, or suspicious website addresses may be signs of fraud. Legal government payments do not require the transfer of CVV codes or one-time passwords to third parties.
