On 26 May, Israel carried out more than 120 air strikes on Lebanese territory and expanded its ground operations beyond the security zone in the south of the country. Lebanon reported dozens of deaths and injuries, whilst Hezbollah reported strikes against Israeli forces and tanks.

On the night of 27 May, Russia reported attacks on an aircraft repair plant in Taganrog, an oil refinery in Tuapse and the ‘Baltimore’ military airfield in Voronezh. A missile and drone attack was also reported in Sevastopol.
Russian troops have attacked a number of regions in Ukraine; there are casualties
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces have launched strikes on several regions of Ukraine. The Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions have come under shelling and drone attacks.
There are around 7,000 Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russia – Kondratyuk
There are currently around 7,000 Ukrainian prisoners of war in Russian captivity, and over 95% of them are subjected to torture and ill-treatment. This was stated by Olena Kondratiuk, Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, during the presentation of a study on violations of prisoners’ rights to medical care.

Over the past 24 hours, 296 combat engagements were recorded on the front line. Russian forces carried out the most attacks in the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole sectors.

Russian military casualties in the war against Ukraine over the past 24 hours have risen by a further thousand or so. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have also destroyed dozens of vehicles and artillery systems.
A Russian strike on Dnipro destroyed a UN humanitarian aid depot worth $1.4 million
As a result of the Russian missile strike on Dnipro on 25 May, a UN World Food Programme warehouse containing humanitarian aid for the civilian population was destroyed. The value of the destroyed cargo exceeds $1.4 million.
